They are one of the best out there, and they deserve every recognition they get. This award is also for bloggers who find fun and inspiration in blogging; they do it with so much love and passion.

I think it is a wonderful idea to find out more about the bloggers whose posts we read every day. My answers are below:

3 Facts About Me

1. I performed a pretty epic career change when I dropped out of my Veterinary Medicine course to study English Literature instead!
2. Recently, I started working part-time at my local library alongside my studies and it’s my dream job!
3. My favourite book quote is this gem from East of Eden by John Steinbeck:

“And now that you don’t have to be perfect, you can be good.”

Questioning the Canon: Harriet Beecher Stowe and Mary Prince

I am particularly proud of my Questioning the Canon series in which I hope to bring to light lesser-known books about a certain issue, which can be read alongside or instead of infamous ‘classics’.

Morrisa’s Questions

1. What is a book you’ve had on your shelf/kindle the longest but still haven’t read?

I’ve had Magpie Murders by Anthony Horowitz on my bookshelf for a very long time. I have seen great reviews and lots of people at my book club have recommended it, but my Crime Fiction module at uni has made me a bit murder-overload for a while!

2. How do you battle reading slumps?

With so much required reading, reading slumps can be particularly dangerous for me! So I try to overcome them by setting pages-per-day goals until the book (hopefully!) has me gripped.

3. What’s your favourite recipe that you like to make, or you like someone to make for you?

Chocolate orange munchkin cakes!

4. Hardcover, paperback, or e-book?

I read in all 3 formats (4 if you include audiobooks) but I’m going to go with hardbacks because they look so pretty on the bookshelf!

5. If you could only read one genre (fantasy, sci-fi, contemporary, historical, non-fiction, etc) for the rest of your life, which would you choose?

Literary fiction because it’s one of my favourite genres and there’s so much variety within it that I wouldn’t get bored.
